What Do You Crave?
Sweets.....Craving donuts,
candy bars, cookies, or ice cream
sometimes means we are craving that
extra little boost. Sugar raises blood
sugar levels, and though it seems
okay, it only gives us a temporary
energy high. After boosting the
serotonin levels in the brain for a
while, we are then back in the dumps
again.
Tip- Eat smaller, more frequent
meals per day
(4-5). This will keep
your energy level the same
throughout the day. Try eating
snacks high in fiber and protein,
which help fill you up. The next time
you crave something sweet, try
eating one tablespoon of delicious
peanut butter. It has a bit of
sweetness, and is protein packed,
which will make you feel full.
Salt......Popcorn, potato chips,
and French fries we sometimes
crave after eating sweets. Our tastes
buds crave that balance, our bodies
don't. The main ingredient of salt is
sodium, and too much raises our
blood pressure. It also makes the
body retain water, giving us a
bloated look. That's why models limit
the amount of salt in their diets.
Especially days before a big photo
shoot.
Tip.....Cut back on the amount of
salt you sprinkle on foods. And check
the ingredients on the package.
Sodas for example are high in
sodium, as are the popular
microwavable noodles that everyone
loves to eat for lunch.

1. Drink a cup of green tea every morning before breakfast - suppresses the appetite.
2. Carry a bottle of water with you everywhere - to get your daily ounces.
3. Eat frequent small meals every 4-5 hours - to maintain energy level. And stop eating at least 3 hours before bed.
4. Eat more fruits & vegetables for high vitamin & fiber content - also helps digest food intake.
5. Exercise at least 20 minutes a day if possible. (Walk, jog, bike, or swim, etc.)
